Arthur D. Moeller, PE, is the Founder, President and CEO of Moeller Engineering, a leader in providing engineering services to the agricultural industry. For over 7 years, just prior to founding Moeller Engineering, Art led a team of Property Engineers as Manager in the Loss Control division for Nationwide Insurance. During his time at Nationwide, he developed property training and assisted Claims Adjusters with loss scope on complicated claims and Underwriters with risk evaluation. Since then, Art has been performing structural integrity evaluations, retrofitting existing industrial facilities, and designing new bulk storage and handling for 180+ clients, totaling nearly 1000 projects over 22 states, and counting. Additionally, over the past 7 years Art has served as the lead demolition engineer for several projects.
Art is a licensed Agricultural, Civil & Structural Engineer, holding licenses in 22 states, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Engineering from Iowa State University. Recognizing a need in the Ag Industry for professional engineering services, in 2010 he formed Moeller Engineering located in Ankeny, IA. With now over 24 years of experience, he brings a specialized wealth of knowledge to his clients.
Art has a diverse engineering background with an emphasis in industrial, agricultural, and process engineering. His expertise also includes bulk material handling and storage design, construction, risk management, loss investigations, disaster response, and demolition engineering.
Art is active in the Grain Elevator and Processors Society (GEAPS) where he served the Greater Iowa Chapter as president in 2012-2013. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), the American Concrete Institute (ACI), and is past president of the Structural Engineering Association of Iowa (SEAIA).
As a professional lecturer and author, Art speaks at various events and offers training to clients in performing bulk storage bin evaluations, structural risk assessments, and silo restorations.
At present, Art has served as an expert witness in 9 cases.
